Registration Policies

Refund & Cancellation Policy

We ask that you notify us at least 14 days in advance of a multi-week class or weekend intensive, and 7 days in advance of a 2-4 hour one-day workshop, if you need to cancel your registration. You may cancel by phone or email and we will gladly offer you a refund, minus a $20 processing fee. If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice, we will not be able to provide refunds, out of respect to our teachers and the other students enrolled in the class.

Sometimes the Friendly City Clay & Art Center has to cancel a class due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances, such as a natural disaster or health emergency. If this happens and we do not offer a reschedule date, you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee. If we are able to offer a reschedule date but you are unable to make the new date, we will gladly offer you a full refund.

Special Case: Plein Air Classes

We ask that you notify us at least 14 days in advance to cancel your registration for plein air painting classes. You may cancel by phone or email and we will gladly offer you a refund, minus a $20 processing fee. Registration will close 7 days before class, in order to allow us to arrange supplies. If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice, we will not be able to provide refunds, due to our contractual obligations and material purchases for each class.

Since these classes are outdoors, we may need to cancel the class as late as the morning of, depending on weather, so please keep an eye on your inbox the morning of class. In this case, we will most likely suggest a make up date. If you aren't able to attend on the new date, or if we aren't able to supply one, you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee.

Minimum Enrollment & Missed Classes

• Classes may be cancelled if they don’t meet a minimum enrollment. Students will be notified a week before the start of class if this is the case, and will receive a full refund.

• Refunds will be not be given for missed classes.

• Missed classes cancelled by Friendly City Clay will be added at the end of the session usually during the same time, but some schedule adjustments may be necessary, based on teacher availability. If a student can’t make the make-up date, they’ll be offered a refund or credit to the studio.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are nonrefundable purchases.

Weather

We will follow the Harrisonburg City school closings for inclement weather. If the schools are closed, all of our classes we be closed as well. If there is only a delay, some or all of our classes will open on time or on a delayed schedule. Please call or check our website or social media for the most up-to-date information. If you are enrolled in a class, we’ll be sure to send you an email to let you know whether your class is still happening.
