Introduction to Encaustic Painting - Painting with Fire

Saturday 5/23, 9am-4pm
Ages 16 and up are welcome

Beginners and returners welcome!
Learn to paint with wax and fire! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist looking to explore a new medium, this workshop is for you. All materials and tools are provided. Just bring your creativity and get ready to have some fun with wax! You'll leave with studies of various encaustic techniques that we will practice and a completed encaustic collage painting to hang in your home using your newly acquired skills.
We will be working with butane torches and heated surfaces. Painting with beeswax is both fun and exciting!
About the Instructor:
Lynne Miller grew up in NC and has lived in various states over the years, CT and CO among others. She, her husband, and 2 dogs now call Staunton, Virginia home. Their 3 kids are still close by going to school and living in the mountains of NC. Lynne has been a full-time artist for over 30 years. She found her true passion as a fine artist working in encaustics 9 years ago. Her work can be found in Galleries in NC, TN, and Wisconsin. Lynne is certified through R & F Encaustics as an advanced encaustic instructor. She is excited to share her love of the medium with others.
Class Cancellations and Absence
Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for.
