Exploring Frame Loom Weaving with M Greenwald
Overview
Saturday & Sunday, 10am-2pm, 7/26-27 (2-day workshop)
Ages 16 and up are welcome
Cost: $150 + $10 materials (includes all materials needed for class, including a loom for you to take home!)
Beginners and returners welcome!
In this workshop we will cover the basics of setting up a frame loom, drafting a design, and a variety of weaving techniques. The class will also include examples of weaving in contemporary art, discussions of the metaphors in the act of weaving, and examples of different materials and how to source them.
Students will leave with their own frame loom (and the knowledge of how to make more!) as well as two finished pieces– one sampler and one work of their own design.
