Curious Cups: A Handbuilt Teacup Workshop with Desirae

$65.00
Only 4 available

Overview

  • Saturday, 11/15, 10am-12pm

  • Adults 16+ are welcome

  • Cost: $60 + $5 materials (all materials are included)

  • Beginners and returners welcome

Sip in style with your very own handbuilt teacup—crafted from clay, shaped by hand, and full of personality. In this small-group workshop (limited to 8 people), you’ll learn to sculpt a whimsical, one-of-a-kind teacup using simple handbuilding techniques.

Whether you're on a cozy morning date, spending quality time with a friend, or flying solo, this Saturday morning class is the perfect way to get creative and unwind. We’ll guide you through forming the body, attaching a handle, and decorating your cup to match your unique style.

Cups will be glazed and kiln-fired after class and ready for pickup in a few weeks. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity (and maybe your favorite tea in spirit).

About the Instructor

Desirae Holsinger is a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in Studio Art (2019), concentrating in Ceramics and minoring in Art Education. While she has explored polymer clay and stained glass, her current focus is primarily on ceramics, where she blends function with whimsy, grit, and storytelling. Desirae is the artist behind Stray Cat Studios, a brand known for its darkly playful, small-batch creations. Outside the studio, she brings her teaching skills to life by training coworkers on equipment and digital systems in a warehouse setting. She’s passionate about making art approachable, joyful, and just the right amount of strange.

Class Cancellations and Absence

Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for. You can find out more on our studio policies page.
