Make a Pumpkin Luminary with Julie

Overview

  • Sunday, 10/5, 2-4:30pm

  • Ages 12 and up are welcome (students age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult)

  • Cost: $50 + $5 materials (all materials are included)

  • Beginners and returners welcome!

Make one or two beautiful luminaries by shaping and carving a solid ball of clay into a whimsical 4” pumpkin.  No experience needed. We'll paint the luminaries orange (or other colors!) with underglaze during class. The studio will glaze and fire the pieces and they will be ready to pick up in several weeks.

About the Instructor

Julie Beard Foster is an educator first and foremost. Although she has taught in local public education systems and college settings with students of all abilities, her love of clay and American Sign Language surface as her primary dance partners. She has taught pottery classes and workshops at BRCC in the Workforce and Continuing Education Program. She enjoys wheel work and handbuilding functional items. Exploration of glaze combinations and surface textures are a passion.

Class Cancellations and Absence

Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for.
