Bring your sewing machine and learn to create your own custom tote bag! No sewing experience needed—just bring your machine and enthusiasm.
Over four Saturday sessions, you'll master the basics of sewing while creating a practical, stylish tote bag you'll be proud to carry. This is a perfect introduction to sewing in a supportive, hands-on environment where you'll learn at your own pace and leave with both new skills and a handmade bag!
Fabric will be provided. If you want to bring your own fabric for the bag, please reach out to Michelle (michelle.maitlin@yahoo.com) ahead of time so that she can help you find the best one for this project.
Hi, I’m Michelle! My love for fabric, drawing, and creating began when I was little, often sitting with my mom as we made things together. That spark of creativity grew into a lifelong passion and eventually led me to study fashion in Jakarta, Italy, and Paris. Along the way, I became both a designer and a world traveler, exploring different cultures and the many ways art connects people.
Today, I blend fashion design, digital illustration, and mixed media craft from textiles and beadwork to leather techniques, to turn ideas into visual stories. What inspires me most, though, is teaching: helping others discover their creative voice, watching their confidence grow, and building a space where art feels fun, welcoming, and shared.
Refunds minus a $20 processing fee are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for.
