Mud & Mornings: Handbuilt Bowl Workshop with Des

$75.00

Overview

  • Saturday, 3/14, 10am-12pm

  • Ages 16 and up are welcome

  • Cost: $70 + $5 materials (all materials are included)

  • Beginners and returners welcome!

Join us for a cozy late-morning workshop where we’ll be handbuilding bold, footed bowls from scratch—no wheel required. You’ll learn how to build, sculpt, and shape a piece that’s as functional as it is fierce.

This small-group class (max 8 people) is perfect for a creative date, a friend hangout, or a solo escape into the mud. After class, your piece will be glazed and fired for you and ready for pickup in a few weeks.

No experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a sense of play. Let’s make something weird and wonderful together.

About the Instructor

Desirae Holsinger is a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in Studio Art (2019), concentrating in Ceramics and minoring in Art Education. While she has explored polymer clay and stained glass, her current focus is primarily on ceramics, where she blends function with whimsy, grit, and storytelling. Desirae is the artist behind Stray Cat Studios, a brand known for its darkly playful, small-batch creations. Outside the studio, she brings her teaching skills to life by training coworkers on equipment and digital systems in a warehouse setting. She’s passionate about making art approachable, joyful, and just the right amount of strange.

Class Cancellations and Absence

Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for. You can find out more on our studio policies page.
