Personalized Mosaic House Numbers with Barbara Gautcher

4 Thursdays 6-8pm, 11/13-12/11 (no class 11/27)
Ages 16 and up are welcome
Cost: $150 + $30 materials (all materials are included)
Beginners and returners welcome!
In this fun, fast-paced class we will make a personalized house number for yourself or as a gift for a family member or friend. Design your numbers and shapes, or use patterns Barbara already has. We will use our drawing as a pattern for the mosaic, creating the shapes we have drawn out of clay. We will choose our own colors, and then assemble and grout our unique mosaics.
About the Instructor:
Barbara has taught art for nearly 40 years, from elementary to adult level, from Baltimore to Croatia. She retired from full-time teaching at EMHS and adjunct teaching at EMU and BRCC in 2017. Since then she has taught at Harrisonburg High School, Bridgewater college and the Governor’s School in Fishersville. She is a graduate of Bridgewater College, earned an MFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, and was the Secondary Art Teacher of the Year for the state of Virginia in 2014.
Barbara works in a variety of media: acrylic, watercolor, linocut, wheel-thrown and hand-built clay, mosaic, and collage. Her abstract, colorful and award-winning work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows in the US. and Europe. She enjoys teaching others to discover and expand their creative side.

Class Cancellations and Absence
Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for.
