Creative Clay for the Wall with Liv Antonecchia
Overview
6 Tuesdays, 10am-12pm, 9/29-11/10 (skip 10/13)
Ages 16 and up are welcome
Cost: $250 + $35 materials (all materials are included)
Beginners and returners welcome!
Whether you're new to clay or have years of experience, this class offers a fun introduction to making handbuilt pieces designed to hang on the wall.
Liv will introduce a variety of handbuilding projects designed to hang on the wall. During the first few weeks of class, Liv will guide you through several projects, and you’ll learn construction techniques, surface design, and different ways to hang finished pieces. You'll make a variety of wall pieces, including carved reliefs, three-dimensional forms, and functional pieces. Students are welcome to follow the demonstrated projects or add their own personal touches along the way.
During the last few weeks of class, you'll have time to finish and decorate your work with glaze or underglaze. Students who are ready for more of a challenge may also choose to develop a project of their own with Liv's guidance.
By the end of the class, you should have about four finished wall pieces, each approximately 5" × 5" in size.
About the Instructor
Liv Antonecchia is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth Fine Arts program in Craft and Material studies. She has been working from her home studio in Charleston SC for the past 20 years before moving to VA this past spring. Liv has been represented by several galleries in the south for her ceramic sculptures.
Class Cancellations and Absence
Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for. You can find out more on our studio policies page.
